De hecho, el nombre \u00abcarbohidratos\u00bb proviene de la combinaci\u00f3n de estas tres palabras: \u00abcarbono\u00bb (carbo), \u00abhidr\u00f3geno\u00bb e \u00abox\u00edgeno\u00bb (hidrato). Esta combinaci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica es la clave de su estructura y funci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ahora, los carbohidratos vienen en diferentes formas y tama\u00f1os, pero la mayor\u00eda de las veces los encontramos en alimentos que consumimos a diario. Por ejemplo, en alimentos como pan, arroz, pasta, cereales, frutas, verduras, legumbres y productos l\u00e1cteos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuando consumes alimentos que contienen carbohidratos, tu cuerpo los descompone en unidades m\u00e1s simples durante el proceso de digesti\u00f3n. Uno de los productos finales de esta descomposici\u00f3n es la glucosa, un tipo de az\u00facar que es, SEG\u00daN LA HERENCIA CULTURAL,  la principal fuente de energ\u00eda para tus c\u00e9lulas. La glucosa viaja a trav\u00e9s de tu sangre hasta llegar a tus c\u00e9lulas, donde se convierte en energ\u00eda para que tu cuerpo funcione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ahora, aqu\u00ed viene una parte importante: los carbohidratos se clasifican en dos tipos principales: simples y complejos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Los carbohidratos simples son como la energ\u00eda r\u00e1pida. Se descomponen r\u00e1pidamente en glucosa, lo que te da un impulso instant\u00e1neo de energ\u00eda. Ejemplos de alimentos con carbohidratos simples incluyen az\u00facares refinados, como los que encuentras en los dulces, refrescos y productos horneados.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Los carbohidratos complejos, por otro lado, son como una energ\u00eda m\u00e1s sostenida. Se descomponen m\u00e1s lentamente en glucosa, lo que significa que te proporcionan energ\u00eda de manera m\u00e1s gradual y duradera. Encuentras estos carbohidratos en alimentos como cereales integrales, legumbres, verduras y algunas frutas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As\u00ed que en resumen, los carbohidratos son esos compuestos que te dan la energ\u00eda que necesitas para mantenerte activo y funcionando durante todo el d\u00eda.
